Search for the work, not just the trade
Electrical procurement can cover rewiring, lighting, testing, planned maintenance and emergency response. Try electrical as a broad starting point, then separate searches for testing, lighting or the equipment you work on. Related work may sit inside a mechanical and electrical package.
Read the evidence requirements early
Check the specific qualifications, registrations, inspection methods and reporting formats the buyer asks for. Requirements vary between contracts; do not assume one accreditation fits every notice. Confirm whether specialist systems are in scope and whether subcontractors are permitted.
Allow for occupied buildings
Access arrangements, isolation windows, resident appointments and out-of-hours work can matter as much as installation time. Look for a clear asset list and expected job volumes. For maintenance frameworks, compare response times with the distance your engineers would travel.
Your quick checklist
- Installation, testing, maintenance or a combined package?
- Which qualifications and reports does this buyer require?
- Are shutdowns and access appointments your responsibility?
- Are quantities fixed or estimates for future orders?
