Search by the system involved
Try electrical, lighting, generators or solar in separate searches. Read whether the notice is for a defined project or maintenance ordered as needed. A larger building contract may combine electrical work with other trades.
Plan access and continuity
Check shutdowns, occupied sites, security, isolation and temporary supply requirements. Allow for equipment lead times and coordination with other contractors. Confirm any compulsory site briefing before committing estimating time.
Check evidence and handover duties
Read the stated registrations, cidb class where applicable, technical evidence and certification requirements. Include testing, commissioning, drawings, warranties and training. For maintenance, assess call-out distances and response times against actual staff availability.
Your quick checklist
- Which systems, sites and voltages are included?
- Do we meet the stated registration requirements?
- Who arranges shutdowns and access?
- Are testing, certification and call-outs priced?
