Define the technical outputs
Separate feasibility, design, surveys, inspections and project management. Identify drawings, reports, approvals and review stages. Search for your discipline as well as engineering; a notice may be titled around the asset or project rather than the profession.
Match the proposed team
Check professional registration, experience and availability requirements for named specialists. Keep project examples relevant to the scoring criteria. Establish which work can be subcontracted and how the buyer assesses joint ventures or consortiums.
Cost fieldwork and consultation
Include travel, site access, surveys and stakeholder meetings. Confirm what background data the buyer provides and how revisions are handled. A panel appointment may lead to later instructions rather than guarantee a fixed volume of work.
Your quick checklist
- Which disciplines and outputs are required?
- Can the proposed people meet the stated credentials?
- Who provides surveys and existing records?
- How are later instructions and revisions priced?
